Blagojevich Blog: Jury Instructions

On May 20, 2011, the government filed its proposed instructions for the jury. These, however, are not the final instructions. According to the spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s office, only Judge James Zagel and the jury have the final instructions, agreed upon by both the prosecution and the defense. After the government filed its proposed jury instructions, the defense filed a number of proposed changes to those directions. Below are the government’s proposed instructions from May 20th as well as the motions filed by the defense.

Government’s Proposed Jury Instructions: May 20

Defense Objections to Jury Instructions and Additional Proposed Instructions: May 23

Defense Additional Proposed Instructions: June 8

Defense Objections to Jury Instructions: June 10
